| reading for school is evil. either they make you read books you hate and would never ever read (i.e. grapes of wrath or tortilla curtain) or they make you read books you would love if you didn't have to read them for school (i.e. 1984 or the book of three) *sigh*

| Argh. That sucks. We had to do Heart of Darkness in first term. I SWEAR, that is the most TERRIBLE, STUPID, POINTLESS, BOOOOOORING book that was ever written. I hate school reading, in case you haven't already noticed  That's exactly why I'm not doing Lit (the hardest course) next year. I don't like analysing books. I prefer writing But yeah, they make you read all the old stuff that isn't even relevant... Why can't we just spend a year studying Harry Potter and Twilight? Dissecting those books might kind of ruin them, though...

i don't have summer reading  ! but i have to get through all of lord of the rings for my mother, which isn't that bad, but still required.
