New moderator, hello!

ugh. that sucks. there are too many computers at our school for them all to be monitored. i hate filters, though. i'm going to burn them when i'm a senior, you know. i have a list of things to burn: the filter, the math books, the csap everything, mrs. prestel...

they really don't know you, do they? you should turn to them with an evil grin and be like, "wouldn't you like to know?" that would probably get you in more trouble, though.

we have about 30 computers per room in over half the business hall, so thats nearly 120 right there, plus allt eh teacher's computers, plus the ones in the library, plus all the other ones

i think myspace is the only place actually blocked at our school, and i figured out how to get on the PATD myspace site once, it wasnt hard, so the filter doesnt exactly work perfectly...
but they have it set to where you cant delete your history, and they have firefox, but you have to set it up, and im not about to take the time to do that, its not worth it

wow! i think we do too, but i don't spend much time in there, so i wouldn't know.
lots of stuff is blocked, especially myspace. i need to find myself some good loopholes, though, especially for ff.net.
i systematically download firefox onto any computer that doesn't have it, and then tell it to delete my history when i leave. i love firefox! explore just bugs me now!

i have to use IE for any chat rooms i go in, otherwise firefox freeszes, and its really annoying, so i gotta get the link, then wait for slow *** IE to open

They've blocked just about everything at our school. Even though we've got tons of computers, the tech guys seem to monitor EVERYTHING. It bugs me. They act like they're the computer gods or something (which technically they are). But yeah, myspace is blocked, and so are bebo, facebook, miniclip, youtube, and probably ff.net by now. I don't want to go on this site while I'm at school, because I don't want to risk it getting blocked (in case I ever need to come on here in an emergency ). But then again, the teachers are such owls anyway. I really like the idea of turning around and smiling evilly at them... that would really freak out a lot of teachers

I've been on ff.net at school before, reading M rated fanfics in the middle of school prolly wasnt the smartest thing in the world either.... but i never got in trouble for it, so.. ya anyway..

ff.net didn't used to be blocked, but now it is. and M is a relative measurement. i've rated things M that shouldn't have been.

we're not supposed to get online for anything other than homework either, but we do anyway. the librarian spends rather a lot of time shrieking at people about that.

ya i know that M sometimes means absolutely nothing, ive seen those and am just like "for god's sake that is like k not M"
then i've also found Ts that should be M and M's that should create a new category called NC-17
(the NC-17 ones i read at my house, not at school, im not THAT stupid)no problem!

Yeah, some people don't seem to get the rating system. My fan fic is rated T, but there hasn't been anything in it so far that really proves its T-ness. There will probably be, at some stage, so I thought I'd rate it that way just to be safe.

And lol, Anne, the librarians at our school are like that too. Only they shriek at everyone for absolutely everything. They all act (and look) like freaking vultures!! So most of the time I avoid the library unless I really need to get a book out. The good thing is that we have a lot of little computer rooms all over the school, as well as computers in the library. Except during lunch and recess you can't go in the computer labs, so the library is your only option, and if you risk doing anything other than schoolwork in there, you're dead meat (literally, seeing as they're vultures)

I hate it when people rate things for "things that may or may not happen in the future." Though, seeing as how I do it too, that makes me a major hypocrite. *shrug* I knew that already, though.

I'm on the librarian's good side. They like me, which is nice, because then I can do pretty much whatever I want without being a victim of the shrieking. I swear, no one can shriek like an enraged librarian! We can only get on the computers in the library, and we don't get recess. *pouts* Oh well. I wouldn't have time for recess. *sigh*

The libraray teachers here like me too ^^ they do me favors like keep there noses to the wind for coming up writing comps and such.

cool! you're lucky! i'm not big on writing comps: they have stupid word limits, which I hate. i won one, though, which made me happy. (and the prize was an ipod-nano, which made me happier !)

i dont know, and i notice that not that many of the mods actually get on often if ever. strange, isnt it.

yeah. the only one who's on all the time is ava. evermore's been on a lot more often lately, though.

avas an admin, not a mod, and so is Ali, the only mod that i ever see on is holly, and she hasnt been on in a while either.

true... my bad. no, she hasn't. i don't even know who the mods are! wow, that's kinda scary.

then they're just lazy. i love it how the top 3 posters are neither admins nor mods. i just find that amusing for some reason.
