| I haven't read any Stephen King, but I've seen Stand By Me. It was a pretty good movie. I can see a lot of resemblance between it and December Boys, somehow.
And ColdOne, I haven't read it, but when I was in grade eight most of the other classes were working on it. Is it any good?

| the choice by nicholas sparks is REALLY good! that was probably one of the last real good books i've read. it was so sad and sweet.
another boook i recommend is starcrossed mark schreiber. it's a cute teenage love story based on the modern idea of romeo & juliet. trust me, it's much easier to read than romeo & juliet!

| i read the outsiders, but i didn't like it much.
lately i've been obsessing over julie anne peters. she wrights really poignant stories about teenagers in... difficult situations. most of her characters are gay, though not all of them. i just think she captures the reality of life really really well.

| Ooooh i've only read your post for this, Anne, but I saw "the outsiders" . I read that book for English in yr 9, and although it's hard to get into i really liked some of the ideas. It was very sad though. This "Julie Anne Peters" author sounds good. If I ever get time, I'll try to look some of it up . | |

| I really liked this one book called The Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl.
It's about this little comic book dork that only has one friend (sometimes) but then he (of course) meets this girl and it kinna shoots from there... it gets a little weird towards the end. I really liked it though. I can't remember who it's by however and can't find my copy at the moment, but I'm pretty sure it's the only Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl.
If you like that, try books by John Green and of course You Don't Know Me by David Klass.
All are great if you like books with funny stuff and sad stuff in them.
