Ok guys, this topic is for poems and whatever you feel like posting (poems, writings, ranting, mumblings, grumblings, ect.) as long as it goes by the rules.

This one was created a long time ago, and it is real sad. So if you don't like sad stuff, beware.

I wish

I wish I had something more
something to live for
but not anymore.
I wish I wasn’t afraid of fear.
I wish wasn’t here.
I wish I did cry.
I never said goodbye.
I wish my Grandma was alive.






This one was written in protest of global warming, acid rain, and all other things that hurt owr beautiful planet.

THE DEATH OF US ALL

Cloaks of crimson skies
Leafs of emerald on her trees
We are all buried
In our layered air of chemicals
Dirt so brown
Cannot make a sound
Of how Mother Nature has been raped
Her children that fly
No longer sing songs
But cry
When they are burned
By our acid rain
Oh, how Mother Nature screams in pain
And everyone complains
When we cannot breath
And cannot eat
The poisoned food we grow
Though we know
As the water we drink
Flows down our throats
Kills us slowly
Because of our greed
Plugging our ears
Not heeding her cries
The time for her death is now



This poem was, and still is, in protest of the war. Let me make it very clear that I do support the soldiers, not the war.

Behind all this madness (edited)

The man
Points his finger
And we stand for it
What is really going on is a mystery
Now all history
But don’t worry
The history books will clean it up
For now, we’re all stuck

Everything’s so messed up
Sending people by the dozens
When will they make me go?
Or maybe one of my cousins
Take everyone I know
Send them all away
To only come back another day
In a black body-bag
Don’t worry we have more people
To pick up the slack
The man says
Can he really do that?
Smack all the important questions down
Answers never to be found
But we can all hear the sound
Of bombs raining down
Blowing up cars
And a couple of blocks downtown
The man says
We will stay the course
Things get worse
A rotting corpse
He’s the force
Behind all this madness
The source
That keeps everything drilling into the ground
The marching of the feet
For more oil
Underneath soil he can’t touch
So he sends us to do his bidding
The nation screaming, “Are you kidding!”
The man sends us all to our deaths
So if you think you won’t be next
Don’t hold your breath

Those are amazing!! I really admire people who can write something with a message. It's kind of weird because I was listening to Fall Out Boy while I read these, and so it kind of set the whole political/meaningful mood (even though Fall Out Boy's lyrics are really hard to make sense of compared to your lovely poems)

Me too! That's just something I've never been able to do. It sucks, because I need to write a prophecy for my current series, and I suck at poetry.

I agree, these poems are really great

And yeah, FOB is a little bit confusing when it comes to lyrics (did I say a little bit? Sorry, I meant REALLY). Especially in Hum Hallelujah... I crack up every time I hear: "Sometimes we take chances, sometimes we take pills." I really love the line that says "I could write it better than you ever felt it," because I'm such a writing freak

This one was written about two or three years ago, it sort of repetitious but I thought 'What the hay, I'll post it anyway" lol rhyme time jokes crack me up.



Your golden crown

My solid brick wall came tumbling down
the day I saw you golden crown,
and what I found.
It hurt me so when I realized
that I had to let you go.
So long our chains-unbreakable,
Our friendship was so unmistakable,
But now that I have seen your golden crown,
I start to second guess,
Our lives are such a mess,
I’m starting to like you less and less.
I want so badly to tell you myself,
how I see your elf’s help you carry out your gossiping hell,
both of us are changing, can’t you see?
You were once so kind,
but now you are driving me out of my mind,
into the ground,
with your new golden crown,
driving me away,
but I’ll tell you it’s ok,
that you may.
Because of your crown,
That you have not found,
Has already driven me away.




This is just one of those funny poems I wrote because I'm obsessed with gnomes.


Gnomes

They go on your lawn
I’m so fond of them
Little men in pointy hats
Smiling and stout
Happy to be out
In all types of weather
Never failing to cheer you up
When you’re down
And watch over your house
So it stays safe and sound

I like those ones Especially the one about gnomes. Gnomes are awesome. Again, I admire you for being able to put messages into your poems. That takes a lot of talent

Yeah, some of my poems are just a bunch of ranting that goes nowhere and others just flow and somehow turn out to be ok. like this one below. This was written the day after a HUGE misunderstaning between and very good friend and I which lead to her punching her boyfriend (well exboyfriend now) because she thought is was all his fault that I was mad at her, which i was never mad in the first place but it got out of had and one thing lead to another and so on and so forth. *sigh* (I hope she doesn't mind me saying that) But in the end everything was cleared up and back to normal, well back to our non-normal ways. lol


Friendship

Things so mixed up
Thought I was so tough
But here I sit on the edge of my bed
In this pit of washed up meds
Fed by our miscommunication, our infatuation
In keeping in touch, keeping so close
That nothing would break
These chains we make
A violent afternoon
All the crying I can take
But somehow we make it better
For the both of our sakes

wow! that last one was really good! i just can't make poetry work that way for me. *sigh* i've given up trying... glad that you and your friend are over the fight, though. yay for not-normal ways!

the gnome one is awesome! they do rock .

the golden crown one is really good too. you have a talent for expressing really deep emotions in a very few words.

i love Hum Hallelujah! probably because i love the original song. but yeah, that line is amazing!

Cracked & Crushed
A pair of friends; a secret starts to unravel,
Unknown to the other, i am about to crack from the pressure
The other isn’t to observing of the way I feel, or has she noticed?
Both like the same man - only one can win his heart
Cracked - is the way I feel
All i know is, i’m getting a crushed feeling
Crushed like when the surf crashed over the reef
I am a surfboard, that got snapped in hald
With many pieces afloat, i am feeling the bitterness
That is why I am the cracked and crushed woman.

Loving You From Afar

At night, I dream of spendin a day or two with you,
the sweetest guy in the world
One; who i can trust, one who can be a friend
One who is there like i am there for you
A dream not to far-fetched, i believe in
you my dream of being with you
Like a diamond; his heart and eyes set me aglow
in time, you’ll see how i feel for you
the friend i found in you, is the one who can light up the night
with just a smile and song
A song filled with love and care
til’ that day, i will sit and wait

GRaduation Poem
Four years in this place, where we learned and lost
Found the determination to keep going on,
Lessons were tough, some easy
All in all, there’s nothing more grand than this lovely day
Friend’s and foes alike
All gathered today, for one reason and one reason only
To say goodbye to the place we spent every day
and the familiar faces we saw
Off into reality- where we must take hold of life
Dreams will fade out or come true

Visions
As I lay asleep, I dream
In this dream, two worlds collide
The first world is where I live, the second is my true destiny
World one is as real as can be; with pain, sorrow and illness and death
the Other world is full of magic, wonder and impressive feats
Both quite different, yet similarities are shown
My religion in the first world; says it’s bad while my heart and mind say it’s not
Visions of destruction and pain arise
In the end, the magical world is taking it’s toll on me
the reality of it all, is it only exists if we believe it does.
A world where you can use charms and spells to help you with daily routines, work, etc...
Compare it to the world we live in, it sure seems like the better deal.
Any means to succeed, is what I say... so in turn
I see visions of this world; the people in it, the magical perspective,
the school to learn it all - and the four houses so distinct to the school.
Which one would I fit in? The house of Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff or Slytherin?
The Gryffindors are far too brave for me, The Ravenclaws are too knowledgable, the Hufflepuffs are far too patient for me to be in. Perhaps I truly see myself in Slytherin.
For a Slytherin, uses everything in it’s possession and knowledge to succeed.
I put on this hat, and I am to be sorted...
I await my destiny, and truth be told Hufflepuff is thee house
I seek fair play and justice...

Wow, nice poems!! I really like the HP one (I happen to be a diehard Harry Potter fan who can tell you absolutely anything about any of the books or movies and who pretends she goes to Hogwarts... ) The first one was great too, as were the others

Here are just a few thing I have written.

Forever captive
Just something I wrote in five minutes one day and I found it.

Hey, over there, what is it about you that gets my heart beating faster.
There's something about you that keeps me mesmerizes and forever captive in your eyes.
And when I take my gaze away from you, I feel empty inside.
Would you mind if I sat and stared at you for a while?
Because right now, that's all I wanna do.

A thousand Broken hearts

A thousand words trapped in a pen,
a million emotions and I cannot describe them.
A thousand unsaid things that cannot go unknown,
A thousand hearts without a home.
Just one girl ordinary as ever,
trying to find her face.
The lies she has to sort through have slowed down her pace.
One of the beating hearts looking for somewhere to go.

A pen quivers above a paper,
Nothing is said.
The world hasn't changed
and no one is saved.
A heart shattered t pieces.
A few last words hang is silence.


Questions

If I left without a trace would I be forgotten
If I asked for the truth would I be lied to?
Am I against everything you ever knew?
And if I fall, will you be there to pick up the pieces?

And furthermore is it really over?
Because always, it feels like I am missing you and half of me is gone.
Can we go back to the way it started?
