I'm bringing up Alaska again briefly () because I think the stupid traveller's wisdom is wrong. I'm sticking to my original argument - the airport is in Alaska, isn't it? That's why they call it the Anchorage airport or whatever. And if, being in the airport, I'm not in Alaska, then where on earth am I? Okay, so I haven't seen any natural aspects of Alaska, but technically I've still been there (a few times).

And about the kids thing... I still have no idea what I'll do. Adoption sounds like a reasonable option. But then, I've got no clue where I'll be at that stage in my life (whatever stage that is ). And I agree, I'll have to be willing to look if I actually want to find the right guy... though my school doesn't have much to offer...

i'm sticking to my argument too: you haven't actually been there. you've been in an airport, which is different. airports are not the same as actually being in whatever place it is. if you leave the airport to transfer to another one, then you've been to the place, but if you just stay in the airport, then you haven't. sorry.

i know what you mean about guys and school. my school hasn't got anything either. *sigh*

I had the same problem when I was in school. There wasn't even slim pickings. I had to drive for an hour before I found a guy.

Back to the Alaska argument: I get where you're coming from, Anne, and if this little factor weren't bugging me, then I would gladly step down (because I really don't care whether or not I've been to Alaska). Just answer me this one question - where was I, if I wasn't in Alaska? I had to be in some country or another. I couldn't have just been lost in space.

Yeah, my school is... well, not known for having good looking guys. There are like... two in my class that are okay, but the rest are just... *awkward silence*

Lol. Do you go to one of those classic, middle of nowhere type schools? I've seen so many of those on movies... but then, as always, in real life they're probably completely different.

Haha, nice My school is pretty crap compared to the others in the area, but that's mostly because it's a public school surrounded by private ones. I like the public system much better, though. Not that I've ever been to a private school to compare... I just know enough from looking at the uniforms and such

Ah, I see. The funny thing is, our school somehow manages to beat the schools in the areas they specialize in. (Like, our field hockey team beat the school that is field-hockey-based, and a group of kids from our school beat a school that specialized in astronomy in an astronomy competition.) I don't get how that always happens, but it gives us bragging rights

that sounds entertaining! we suck at sports (we're known for it ) but our academic and arts programs are really good. we might be a public school, but we know how to put on a good show!

Public schools are the best, anyway! Our school is really quite good all round, but we're known for being the "bogan" school, because our uniforms are so shabby compared to the others. And a lot of our students have been seen smoking and all that around the area... Unfortunately. Some people are just like that...

they are! the people are MUCH nicer as a rule. i went to private school for elementary school at HATED it! my school has the worst results of the 3 high schools in our ares because we're where most of the minorities come, and, unfortunately, that means that test scores drop. that's not a good thing, but it happens. *sigh*

That's true. Private school kids are just brought up to think they're better than everybody else, so they're not particularly nice. (Nothing against you, Anne, I mean, seeing as you said you went to a private school for Elementary ) Our school has a lot of dumb kids too, but somehow we just end up with a lot of brilliant ones too. I'm glad I don't always have to put up with the people who can't do anything (I'm sorry to be mean) because I'm in the ATP class. It's quite intimidating, though, because there are some REALLY smart people in my class.

don't worry about it. most of the kids there WERE really mean. *shudder* that was the period of my life when i came home every night crying because they wouldn't play with me. *shakes head* i'm SO glad i switched to public school! yeah, next year i won't have to deal with any stupid/slacker kids. no place for any of them in IB ! i've always hated not being in honors because i cannot stand the pace of "normal" classes. it just moves so darn slowly and people don't do anything and... yeah. old rant here. i actually get better grades in honors classes than non-honors ones because i don't do well when i'm bored...
