he poked me in both eyes (once with a paper ball then again with i think it was a pencil) tried to impale my skull with a broken pencil, and then tried again when that failed

Okay, so my friend, I'll call her Meg, has been dating this guy, who I'll call Dan. They were it. And by it I mean the kind of relationship that everyone wants but no one gets, like the Romeo and Juliet of the century (without the suicide and pedopilia, of course) but even more in love. Everyone, even their parents, just accepted that one day they were going to get married and have lots of little babies and die together. When Dan had to move to Georgia, Meg got so depressed that she couldn't eat or sleep. He finally moved back, and everything was starting to look up.

He broke up with her a few days ago. Apparently, he's been cheating on her with this girl he met in Georgia, I'm calling her Sandy, for two months! And he's not sure which one of them he loves more, so he's going to try Sandy out for a while. And, to top it all off, he has the balls to ask Meg to wait for him in case he changes his mind! It's going to be hard enough to keep her from not killing herself without him telling her to wait around for him just in case.

I really like him, and I wanted everything they had--but not now! No one can believe it, it's so crazy.

My problem? Trying to keep her from waiting for him, which she vowed to do. Anyone got any advice?
