Rosalie's history

So,
Now that we all know Rosalies history and her reasoning
What do we think?

Hmm I think her reasons are understandable to me.

I mean I think after awhile you would get lonely even if you did have someone with you and you would just want to live a normal life and die like normal people. Plus experience what all humans do.

Now that we know her history, I can totally symphathize with her and I find myself not hating her because of how she has treated Bella throughout the books. I can totally see her wanting to have had a child and gone through life like a normal person...

And I was thinking about this... Do you guys think that maye Emmett was related to Rosalie`s best friend Vera? I thought this because she was saying how much he reminded her of Vera`s child when she found him being mauled by the bear...

Yea I know thats how I feel too. I can too. I mean if I was her I would want that too.

I totally thought that too. I was like "Is he like her great-great-grandson or something like that?"

When I read Rosalie's history I understood her and her hostility toward Bella. I also could understand how she would want to be normal. I also disliked her more when I read this because she talked about how vain she was and how she needed EVERYONE to think how beautiful she was. It was also sad that her husband was such a... you know what.

ummm.. she found emmett not that long after she was changed and if you take the time to read emmetts history youll find that he is not.

i understand her thoughts, but i dont get why she she acted so badly to bella. it was bellas choice if she wanted to date a vampire. and rose didnt have to be so jealous, she has emmitt!

I know!! She doesn't have to ruin Bella's happy-ness because of her own sad life storie.

I started to like Rosalie a little more after reading about her history, but she's still my least favourite Cullen. I don't like her vanity and jealousy - the latter is completely unnecessary, because just as you all have said, she has Emmett. I can sort of understand her a little more now that I know about her pain and longing, though.

I felt so bad for her but I still don't like her because she is still soooo vain! If you read the first chapter of Midnight Sun Edward catches her thinking of herself... again. I thought that maybe she would learn a lesson in humility. And Vanity is one of the forces pushing her against Bella. GRRR! But, never the less, I feel bad for her.

i dont mind that part of her beacuse i understand that its just part of who she is.

I understand that shes vain and shallow... but she can admit it... And for that, I like her... I think she should try to change that, but its who she is and she acknowledges that... I like her more for that

But I totally understand why she is jealous of Bella... Bella has the opportunity to have everything that Rosalie wanted and Bella wants to be a Vampire... I can understand that she is jealous that Bella has a choice, whereas she never did... I feel sorry for her

And I see her actions towards Bella as just being jealous, not so much hate... I dont think she hates Bella... Like Rose said, Bella hasnt done anything wrong... she's just envious of the fact that Bella gets a choice between the life Rosalie wants and the life Rose got forced into

But I totally sympathise with her... But I do wonder, if Carlisle had given her the choice while she was laying there dying, on becoming a Vampire or dying, what she would choose? Whether she would recognise that she would get a chance to at least fall in love with someone else. So she'd get half of her dream. I just wonder, if it was between death, or being a Vampire, what would she have chosen?

Considering what edward,bite-me said about her getting half of her dream, I think she'd choose life as a vampire over death altogether. If she died, she'd never experience having children OR falling in love (properly, at least). As a vampire, she at least gets to have one of those things - she's got Emmett.

I agree with everyone that it made it easier to sympathize with Rosealie but I have a question, when Bella asked her if she would like her now more and Rose replied maybe ( or something like that, i don't have the book in front of me) was Rose joking or serious? because I got the impression that she wasn't kidding and was still going to be slightly hostile toward Bella, if that is the case I'm still upset with her.

I think she is going to be a little hostile towards Bella for choosing their lifestyle. Rosalie would NEVER have choosen this for herself.

If she is still hostile i'm going to be upset, she needs to realize that she isn't bella. Bella is in love and love knows know rhyme or reason, thats the beauty of it sometimes. I guess even after knowing her history I sympathized with her but i still don't like her, she is conceded and unreasonable. By the way cold one i think your the only person who wants to talk to me ever ha ha.

I agree with Mella058! I do sympathize for Rose but still, Bella is her own person and gets the right to make her own decisions! I mean it's not like she is hurting Rose in the process of becoming a vampire (if Bella ever does become one)! And mella you know I will always want to talk to you!

Mella058 (Is there anything I can call you for short? You can call me Jess.) You are SO right whne you saud love knows no ryme or reason!! Rose needs to "grow up" and get over herself. The world doesn't revolve around her.

call me Mel love ya lindz! haha. I agree jess but i don't think she's ever going to grow up or realize that the world doesn't revolve around her. I just don't see how the cullens stand being around her, people like that drive me batty!

Yeah. I don't know how Emmett can stand it...

yea i didn't even think about him! funny how those two are not alike at all. I LOVE Emmet I'm super excited to see if he marries Edward and Bella because that would make my life complete!!

That would be cool and funny if Emmett marries Edward and Bella! I think maybe Rosalie will lighten up a little bit on Bella, but I could be giving her too much credit!

Lol, I'd love it if Emmett did that! It's kind of like how Joey married Phoebe and Mike, and Monica and Chandler, on Friends. That was perfect.

And yeah, I think once Bella is a vampire (if my dreams do, in fact, come true) Rosalie might be a little less harsh on her, because then the whole 'trying to convince her not to give up her humanity and the chance to have children' thing will be a lost cause, and she'll be part of the family.
