Wow, must have been a huge change. Your high school sounds a bit like mine (only mine's probably more goody-goody, because in our district we're compared to all the private schools). There are people smoking in the underpass that leads to the train station ALL THE TIME, and I'm sure there are people doing other drugs too. Eek, let's just hope you never go looking for an illegal substance in the first place... lol Swearing just doesn't come naturally to me, and I guess it's easier that way

yeah, it was MAJOR culture shock! i went from itty bitty private school to big middle school, so i had some time to adjust, and then suddenly, high school. *shakes head* i'm so happy i had the adjustment period, though. i see my friend, who went to a different bitty private school until 8th grade, in her 1st year at high school, and i'm sooo glad i had experiance! oh, lovely. and don't worry. i have no intention of ever EVER touching drugs. *shudder* that's a good thing. i don't like how easily it comes to me, and i'm trying to break the habit.

For me the main difference was the size of the school (actually I went to a huge elementary school in Canada, then a TINY primary school here, and then to a relatively large middle school/high school). I got lost on my first day and the big senior school kids laughed at me Now I'm in senior school and I'm used to it. Well that's good. Neither do I. Haha, well my parents swear all the time, but somehow I just don't... Oh well

yeah. it was VERY bitty, too! she's adjusted, just not into the crowd i would have liked. *sigh* though that may be less the shock and more the parents . (rebelling against them, i mean). yeah, the size was a bit... wow! i got lost in middle school and this year. i was looking for the gym, and i had NO idea where to go! i mean, i try to avoid it at all costs, so it's not my fault! it's sad that they laughed at you, though. but now you can laugh at the new kids when they get lost . yeah, it is good. i certainly hope not! that's good that you don't, though. there is no rule that says you HAVE to!

oh, she's generally messing her life up and eventually it will come crashing down on her and we'll have to pick up the pieces. so we all try and stop her, but i refuse to yell at her because then she'll yell at me for what i do and that won't help anything.
