NEWS UPDATE! IMPORTENT! Please everyone read!

Guys, for those of you living in victoria of australia right now i hope that you are all ok and i understand that it is literally hell on earth for everyone at the moment, we have all lost something and it is not over yet.

For those of you who dont know, victoria, australia is have a major bushfire stome crisis at the moment, this is the third day and so far there have been 128 confirmed deaths and over 700 homes lost, and three towns completely wiped off the map. Please, those of you in danger post here and let us know that your ok!

I am personally in a high alert area at the moment, we have fire on three sides of the town where i live, but not close enough to see black smoke, however if the wind changes we will be evacuated. My mother and i have decided not to leave unless we have to and are currently staying to defend our home. We are fine unless the wind changes direction, but that doesnt mean that we are not in danger at the moment. we may experience ember attacks. But we are safe for now.

My deepest regrets to those of you who have lost friends, family, pets and homes in these horrifing fires, we too have possibly lost too very close friends who stayed to defend their house and who have not been heard from since the update that they were trapped between the their house (already burnt to the ground) and a burning bridge, the only way out. This was over 24 hours ago.

Yet again i hope that everyone from here is safe and that you all got out in time.

We are fine at the moment, and so our our friends and their dog that got thrappen in the burning house, but they have lost everything else.

Most of victoria has been burnt to the ground, i have survayed some of the damage today and it is horrific, and i know that all of marysville has been closed of as a murder scene, there are dead bodies in the street there!

the death toll has risen to abover 170, and is expected to raise ferther.

I've heard a lot about this lately and personally it makes me sick that whoever the culprit is would actually do something so horrible. I don't know anybody who lives over there, but our school is setting up a bushfire appeal, and I know a lot of other organisations over here are doing the same. I really hope your town stays safe, Lilly, and that all of this stops soon

No, alot of the fires (one of which killed over 100 people) were deliberately lit.

Death toll is currently at 181, with 1,069 homes destroyed.

I know a few people who still havent been heard from and here right now i cant see the close mountains through all the smoke, its really thick at the moment, but the fire still isnt near here luckily.

There are three major fires still burning and many many smaller ones.

I'm just glad that y'all are all safe as of this moment. And I can't imagine what kind of person (if it was a person) would do something like this.

Lo0ts of people started the fire though they tend to be pyromaniacs or enraged volinter firefighters that want to fight fires

meh, im a firebug, no a pyromaniac, so i relly dont understand the urge to LIGHT fires.

im in victoria and should say that yeah, im safe
at the moment there is smoke EVERYWHERE to the point where we cant see the Mount Dandenongs anymore, even though they are fire free.

the mountains here are disappearing and reappearing as well, but the closest fire is 20 km away, so its jsut drifting smoke as well.

i hope that none of you loose your homes or pets, friends or family and my best of wishes go out to all of you down in Victoria and the surrounding areas
i dont personally live actually close enough to really be in any immediate danger should there be a fire in my area (though i basically live in a bowl surrounded by mountains, its more of a valley than a bowl though but you can do a full 360 degree turn, mountains all the way around) but i hae seen them around here before and i know how bad the smoke can get, try to stay out of it is all im saying
but once again my best of wishes goes out to anyone down there as well as your friends and families

Oh geez yes I've heard so much even in Malaysian news - there's been something on the radio about it almost every day!! I hope all of you in Victoria are doing alright and all my love and best wishes go to you!!

And I can't believe that some stupid crazy pyromaniac (for want of a ruder word) would set fire to someplace as beautiful as Victoria. It drives me nuts. I had a completely crazy flip out to people at my lunch table the other day - they were scared of me for a while, but I thought that would be helpful to show you how much I want to support you here. *sad smile*

Yes, there have been people arrested for it.

And oh sheez yes so many animals!!! That's really scary - that someone could purposely destroy bush (trees, flowers etc), could purposely destroy humans (their own species!)..... but could knowingly murder thousands of animals of so many different species......?!?! I don't know, I'll never understand it.

That's just terrible. I really hope that they didn't understand what they were doing when they started it (because a person who would knowingly kill that many innocent people is just...) but I hope the understand what they did NOW and that they pay for it.

We had a pretty big fire down here recently, it was started by some college kids, they had a bonfire and they thought it was out, but apparently it wasn't.
I'm not sure if anyone died, but I know a lot of people who lost their homes.

When the firefighters could finally get to the town, they actually found dead bodies in the street, thats how fast it hit.
