need a new book to read

yeah, they do. it's irritating after a while. like there was this one girl a couple years younger than me whose first name is, no joke, Star Fire. I mean seriously! it's insane what people inflict on kids! lol.

Haha! My friend from primary school had a baby cousin named Smiley. I'm serious! I mean, it suits a baby, but that kid's gonna be the laughing stock of the school when he gets older.

I think Smiley is an old name, or an old nick name. Ok at my school, no joke, this kids name is Jack Daniels.

I dont no if you guys are into romance novels, but here are some really great ones: Just Listen, Truth About Forever, Dreamland,, and This Lullaby are all by Sarah Dessen and are truly great... But, if you are looking for a great horror novel, well then get IT by Stephen King, it is truly amazing... Anyways just take a look at them, you will fall in love..

Oh, I love elephants!! I've been obsessed with them ever since I was really little. What's that one about (The Nature of Jade)?

I seriously think I don't read enough books, because I never recognize any of the ones you guys suggest. Don't get me wrong, I do read a lot, I just tend to stick to my favourites. The problem is that I read books really deeply, and if it's even slightly hard to follow, I don't get that into it and I can't force myself through the whole thing.

Well it's about this chick who watches 'her' elephant web cam and sees this guy who keeps comming aroung and just watching them. She ends up working at the zoo as a volunteer. And they end up meeting.
I don't want to be a spoiler so I won't say anything else.

Oh yay!!!! Someone else who is obsessed with elephants!! OMG have you seen the ones at the National Zoo?!?!? They DO have a web cam! Elephants 27/7!!!!!! They are so cute!

i'm not as much an elephant person as a turtle and platypus person! yay platypi! (hmph, no platypus icon. grr.)

i'm not so much into romance or horror, but i'm getting there. (for romance, at least ).

umm small warning it is an adult novel, so it has some adult "situations" in it, not only suggestive but mention of rape and some sever beating, so beware of that, but take note, i read this when i was like 12-13, so its not TOO bad, but i probably shouldnt have been reading it, but whatever
and look where its gotten me now! (im creating a "screw the human" group-no thats not its official name, so dont freak out that you missed the voting, i like that one the best so far, so thats what im calling it till its named-that should say a little something)

The Cirque Du Freak series is very good( i've read them all )my fav. is the last one.

hm.. i'll have to find some of these books. i will not get my hopes up though, my town and school libraries suck.

i liked memoirs. then bit before the end, on the island, was annoying. Nobu treated her better than that. he didn't deserve what she did to him.

It has been a while since I've read it, and from what I remember I was a adult book. I count anything that has to do with prostitutes (I can say that can't I?) in it. Like the book Lonesome Dove. Not a kids book, and I don't think it would be in the teen section either.

it is kind of an adult book, i guess. i don't really think it's about prostitutes (geishas are not prostitutes imo) but i see where you get that from. i would probably put it in the adult section, though.

OMG OMG OMG!!! (lol sorry, I sound like a girly freak right now, but I can't help it) I LOVE PLATYPUSES!!! I've been really really obsessed with them ever since I was like six or something. Only I used to think they had two feet and no tail... lol, I've seen them in real life now, in a zoo and in the wild. They're so awesome

My sister read that Memoirs of a Geisha book. She said it was alright, but I didn't get a chance to read it before she gave it back to the library.

Ok *sigh* please don't tell me I have to explain exactly what a Geisha is. Long story short- they are like Companions/call girls with out the phone, only up close and personal.

i know exactly what they are. but they're more like courtesans than prostitutes. and they can do other things too.

yay platipy! i've never seen one in person, but they're awesome anyway! (our zoo is really bad. *sigh* they don't have anything fun.)

i bought the book at gatwick airport. they were having a sale, which never happens, and so my dad bought it for me along with whichever Terry Pratchet book he was reading at the time.

Haha, our zoo sucks too. I had to go to Sydney to see them. And then I saw them in the wild when we were taking a camper van from Cairns down to Brisbane. It was very cool

My friend is obsessed with Terry Pratchett. She keeps going on about things from his books and I'm just like "okay... that makes total sense."

sam, his books don't make any sense at ALL if you try to explain them. you just have to read them. and it takes a while to get into them, so don't worry. i like the ones about the guards and the witches. the wizards are boring. the best one is Witches Abroad, where they go into a country that has been turned into a mixture of all the fairy tales you can think of. it's amazing!

I've never heard of Terry Pratchett, but you know who is really good at telling a story-Cornelia Funke. She wrote Inkheart and Inkspell, two books that I simply adore. I can't wait for the next one to come out. They are about this kid and her father;that when they read aloud the people of things in the story come to life. They get sucked into one of the books themselfs. The plot is that they have to save the world in the book as well as their own from an evil guy in the book who some how finds a way to enter their world. (they might have made a movie out of Inkheart but I'm not sure)
