Yeah, I hate it when that happens. I hate losing friends as a result of you or them moving to a different country as well. I moved away from all my really really great friends in Canada, and then my best friend here just moved to Malaysia.

But the weird thing is that one of my best friends from primary school (we were inseparable in grade 6) doesn't even talk to me anymore, even though we go to the same school. She's in the "popular" group, and I'm in her class, but I'm in the quiet/nerdish/weird group. I find it really strange.

Don't you hate it when your friend gets into the "popular" group and then you guys just stop talking, it is so stupid!

it is. my one friend Meg is one of the most popular people i know, in a good way. she knows EVERYONE! and then there's me, who doesn't know anyone, and it gets awkward!

at least we have the wonders of the internet. yay for modern technology!

Yeah, a couple of my friends are really quite popular, but I feel really out of place when I'm around her other friends that I don't know. I know a lot of people, I guess, but I don't talk to them much. At least nobody has anything against me

Modern technology is the best!! If it wasn't for my computer, I wouldn't have a place to write (without my hand cramping up, at least) and I wouldn't be able to talk to you guys, or communicate with my friends in Canada. That would suck.

same here. i don't know that many people really well, so i always felt awkward. like at her birthday party. i knew them all, but i wasn't great friends with any of them, and it was weird.

I've been in similar situations before. I once had to play the drums for my (popular) friend's band for some talent show, and we had most of the practices at my house. It was really awkward, because I knew them, but they never really talked to me. So I just sat quietly for the whole time while they argued over the music

We did okay. Actually, everybody hated us, but only because the popular group kind of made a joke out of it. I'm doing it again this year with another group of people, but I really don't want to, because I haven't got enough time and the drum part for the song they've picked is WAY too hard.

He's definitely got more than a BIT to spare. But we don't want to be getting greedy here.

I use internet explorer. But only because I have nothing else. My computer makes up for it, though - the internet works like a dream, even though it's completely flaky on every other computer in the house.

I don't think they're quite evil enough to be killed... but of course, I'm still evil enough to kill them And yeah, that's a good idea. I can just imagine it: "Sorry guys, but I'm flutzing my lutz, and my catch spirals and outside brackets need so much work before the Gala, so I just won't have time. And I rolled my ankle trying to land a clean double salchow, so I won't be able to hit the bass drum properly. Sorry!" They'd probably be gawking at me by the time I'd finished. At least it would probably work!

I guess all we would need to do is come up with a reasonable explanation for why we need the money, and then we wouldn't be so greedy. Any ideas?

i systematically download firwfox on every computer i touch. i just can't stand explorer! at least your computer likes the internet! we used to have a really bad connection, and i just about died. now we have a really good one, though, and i'm happy .

basically, we (evermore and I) have to verify any new members, so they come in with name we see as a threat of an email we dont like, they aint gonna have access to this site, cause we wont allow them in!

The spammers are dumb, sure, but they aint stupid.

If you remember one of the first of hems name was edward_n_bella, and that isnt really a threat, is it? And another was CookheQueen. Which doesnt really stand out either.

I dont like bringing it up coz i wanna get rid of these idiots too, but i think that it might be relevant sorry.

ya we have thought of that, we wont only be checking names, but emails as well, as i noticed as i was banning and all that, most of the spammers had used these "one time" emails as in not yahoo, aol, gmail, etc. yes there are actual sites that you can type in the name of, set up an account here, and never have to use the email again
and of course, its not fool proof, but it should help us out a little bit
oh and another one was Nikkicullen
she was a member for nearly a month before the attack, now whether she decided to join in after they started, or that was her original goal, no one knows

this of course doenst mean the board is COMPLETELY unspammable, but it should help out a little bit

it probably will. But not all of them are gonna have horrid email address, so we probably will get a few, but not nearly as many
or, at least, not until they figure out that their email addresses are keeping them from getting accepted, but hopefully it'll take a while for them to work it out. so weve got until then to keep thinking of other ways.
im sure that we will eventually find a way to keep them all out, were certainly cunning enough.
